Tariff Relief Is Here — But So Is the Rush. Let’s Secure Your Freight Strategy Now.

The White House has issued an official Executive Order and Fact Sheet confirming a new 90-day tariff agreement with China, taking effect at 12:01 a.m. EDT on May 14, 2025.

This agreement suspends a major portion of reciprocal tariffs and brings key changes for U.S. importers and exporters:

✅ U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods drop from 145% ➜ 30%
✅ China reduces tariffs on U.S. goods from 125% ➜ 10%
✅ A 10% baseline tariff remains in effect
✅ Section 301, 232, fentanyl-related, and MFN duties remain unchanged
✅ China will suspend its retaliatory tariffs and non-tariff measures
✅ Duty on certain low-value items from China drops from 120% ➜ 54%

📌 These changes apply to all goods:

  • Entered for consumption, or

  • Withdrawn from warehouse,

  • On or after 12:01 a.m. EDT, May 14, 2025

This is a meaningful opportunity to reduce landed costs — but it also introduces intense pressure on space and pricing. Importers across all sectors are already repositioning inventory to move under the new rates.
